The Tudors – In Person and Under Your Feet
Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th July 2009
Forty Hall and Enfield Museum Service are proud to present a weekend of exciting family activities that will bring history to life, in and around the Jacobean house and grounds of Forty Hall. Find out more about the weekend.
Excavations for 2009
The Society is active in carrying out archaeological fieldwork. We are hoping to carry out several excavations during 2009. See below for details:
- Theobalds Palace (Cedars Park), July 10-12, 2009.
- Elsyng Palace (Forty Hall), July 17-19, 2009 - excavations will be carried out on the Tudor palace as part of the National Archaeology Day event.
If you do wish to participate in one of the Society's excavations (and you are over 16 years old), please contact our Chairman and Site Manager, Mr Michael Dewbrey, who can be contacted on tel: 01707 873 756. Diggers of all levels of experience are welcome (including beginners).
Please note that you must be a member of the Society to dig (in order to be covered by our insurance policy). See the How to join section.
New Publication
The archive report, "Excavations At 102 Leighton Rd., Bush Hill Park, Enfield, March 2001 - June 2002", by Martin J. Dearne and Roger Dormer, has been recently completed. See Publications for more details.
Social Auditor Vacancy
The Society also has a vacancy for an auditor. Duties would involve checking the Society's accounts once a year prior to the AGM in April. If you are interested in helping out, please contact the Secretary.
