National Archaeology Day – Sunday 15th July 2007
Join in the Fun at the ‘Under Your Feet’ archaeology event at Forty Hall.
Sunday 15th July 2007 – FREE ENTRY – 11.30am till 4.00pm
Sunday 15th July 2007 will be an extremely exciting day for not only Forty Hall but for the people of Enfield, as a public archaeological dig takes place in the grounds of the Hall.
The dig will be carried out by members of the Enfield Archaeological Society (EAS), details of which are still to be confirmed.
This free event starts at 11.30am, and finishes at 4.00pm, and as well as the dig the day has some other fun and interesting attractions, such as:
- Bring your finds stall – Experts from Forty Hall Museum and EAS will be on hand to identify any finds or artefacts people may have stumbled across in their attic, or whilst digging, or out walking.
- Guess the mystery object – There will be some fascinating mystery historical objects on show, and a prize for the person who comes up with the correct guess as to what the objects were used for.
- Children's activities – Children are very welcome, and there will be historical fun and games for youngsters throughout the day.
So why not take a trip back in time and join us for this fascinating and fun day??
